Therefore nobody was using the laptop for the six week duration so there was no further configuration changes I used this set-up, and was evaluating the software using the Hyper-V manager, for a couple of weeks before I was hospitalised for about 6 weeks. I then installed SQL Server 2016 evaluation edition on the virtual Windows Server. In late August 2017 I managed to set up a virtual machine running Windows Server 2012 evaluation edition using hyper-v which in turn was running on my Windows 10 Pro laptop.
